Oh, how I love national holidays.
Today was the first day of March, which means it's Sam-il-jeol (March 1st Movement Day). Named sam (=three) and il (=one) to mark the date of the 1919 movement, this holiday celebrates the movement that emerges amidst the repressive oppression under Japanese colonial rule. So, it's easy to see why this movement is a national holiday.
It's also means it's a day off, so our family has our usual fun, getting our hair dyed and eating good food and good dessert!
